Elizabeth Hall Thompson was born January 8, 1873 in Brunswick, Missouri. She was a designer for a wholesale millinery shop, Bee Newburger, located in St. Joseph, Missouri and later went to work for Tootle-Maddox and Wheakley at Kansas City. Mrs. Thompson was married to Edgar G. Thompson in 1898. In 1923, Thompson built the Colonial Hotel in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. In 1952, she resided in Houston, Texas.
